Izleifur is a rising star on the Icelandic hip-hop scene. He began his career as a producer for many of Iceland’s biggest rappers but felt he had more on his mind than he could express through production alone. That realization became the foundation for the Izleifur project.

At the beginning of 2024, Izleifur released his critically acclaimed debut album ÞETTA ER IZLEIFUR—translated into Danish as Det her er Izleifur (“This Is Izleifur”). The record is a coming-of-age album in which he explores his upbringing in Iceland’s capital, Reykjavík, specifically the 101 postal district—often considered the cultural melting pot of Iceland.

Izleifur holds nothing back when it comes to sharing his emotions with the listener—he puts everything he has into his songs. And with so much on his mind, he is also remarkably prolific.

In October 2024, he released his second album, Ég á móti mér (Me Against Me)—just seven months after his debut. The album’s title reflects his outlook on the future: the only person who can stand in his way is himself, and he is determined to surpass every expectation.

Izleifur is a compelling live performer who thrives in intimate, tightly packed venues where the audience is close and the energy is immediate.
